Virginia Tech murder

I am deeply troubled by the murder of a female student of VT. This is the second time a serious crime has been committed on the VT campus by an asian student. The Asian students constitute a significant percentage of the entire student body. VT is very popular among Asian foreign students. I am not sure why this is the case. There is very little the VT authorities can do to check the backgrounds of all these hundreds of Asians. Majority of the students are very good but the few bad ones are tarnishing the image of the majority.
Maybe it is time for the authorities to take a critical look at its admission policies and procedures regarding Asian students. The Asian student community must also do more to check on the atittudes and behaviours of its menbers. I hope this unfortunate situation does not happen again. Go Hokies!!!. I will be back!!

Congratulations to President Obama

I want to extend my congratulations to President Obama on his election as the first black president of the US. The challenges facing him are big. The expectation of people about his tenure are equally big. The bush administration has seriously damaged the US image abroad. The economy has been weakened by poor oversight and regulation. President Obama must not waste time in reversing the bad policies of the past eight years. Africa has suffered in the hands of bad leaders for far too long. A clear message must be sent out to the Mugabes and Bongos that they must changed their leadership styles or be changed. I will be back!!
